I trust totally under control now...? I read somewhere that salt is
good for getting blood stains out of fabric....
Any idea what preciptated the bleed...?

It was the normal bleed but more severe, no doubt
owing to the Plavix, which I'm going to try to
get the doctor to OK my getting off this month.

Lebanon bologna is in fact more salamiish than its
name would imply, but the relative dryness, smokiness,
and spice won't protect against such a long journey.
And probably laws against it as well... (and my comment was a totally

    There are laws about importing meat into the US;
most other countries I know of aren't as strict
    (or paranoid).

off the wall sort of thinking, granted... [g])

There are services that send food supposedly
    worldwide.

Softhearted and softheaded are similar; I count both
as virtures much of the time.
Depends on the degree of the softheadedness... ;)

    Or softheartedness, at that.

Sort of meandering, so not much of a mob. The fact
there was lots of construction to dodge made the
    mobbiness aspect less likely.
    I suppose that would....
Tell me how many revolutions have been started
    by the genteel classes.
People would probably argue this one, but those Bostonians were mostly considered part of the genteel class, along with the Virginians...

The genteel class vis-a-vis the other settlers
but not the overlords from away.

He seemed to me to be quite ancient. I mentioned
this to Irina Muresanu (though she's quite possibly
as good a violinist as he, she really looks up to
him), and she allowed as how she is getting a bit
ancient herself (I think she's in her 40s).
It's all in the perspective.... :) So, he's showing his age, then...?
She was gorgeous back a quarter century ago when
we gave her a scholarship and so far as I can tell
is even more so now - though between makeup
artistry and my eyesight, who knows.
Doesn't sound like Irina's showing her age much, then... what about
    Gidon...?

Gidon looks a mess. I tried to convey that impression.

It was a good day, punctuated only by Lilli's
    health anxieties.
    Probably the new normal....
Sad to say, that's what I'm looking forward to.
As long as it can be kept to a fairly even keel....
I've been looking after her for a decade, so
it's nothing new, but the frequency of issues
is increasing, and with my potentially greater
    debility, it's daunting.
    Totally understood.... on multiple levels...

As we age, this sort of thing happens.

    Purple Cabbage Chicken Stir-Fry
    categories: Singaporean, main, poultry
    servings: 4 to 6

600 g chicken fillet, 1" cubes, marinated 6 hr in
    tare
1/2 hd purple cabbage, 1 cm thick strips
1/2 hd regular round cabbage, 2" squares
    12 shiitake mushrooms, sliced
    150 g baby asparagus, 1"-lengths
    6 cloves garlic, minced
    1 Tb canola oil
    1 Tb sesame oil
    h - Seasoning
    1 Tb light soy
    1 ts fish sauce
    1 Tb cognac
    3 Tb chicken broth
    1/2 ts ground black pepper

Fry garlic in canola and sesame oil on medium heat.
Turn the heat up to high and add purple cabbage.
Toss about 1 min. Add white cabbage, toss 1 min.
Add mushrooms, toss 1 min. Add chicken, toss 2 min
or until chicken is cooked through.

Add asparagus and seasoning, and toss through until
the whole stir-fry is cooked and all of the
seasoning liquid is absorbed, about 3 min.
    Serve with additional black pepper.

Sounds to me like that's overdue... hope he goes along with it...

As long as it meets standards, I'd guess... I understand proper Scottish
can't be imported into the States, because of the lungs...
