come out and tighten my carpet, it's loose and developing
wrinkles [and] look at the flooring in the kitchen/entry (it
    also is developing wrinkles) ...

I'm not sure if this on my nickle, directly, I didn't ask ...

It was all new when I moved in last June.

Regulations vary from place to place but in general terms unit
owners are usually responsible for maintenance and repairs inside
their own units but the condo corp is responsible for the overall
structure, the exterior and all the common areas. You got a copy of
the condo bylaws when you bought the place, right? It will contain
    the details.

As well, most renovations have at least a one year warrantee, so if
you lodged your work request within the first 365 days the carpet
    stretching should be free.

Is your kitchen and entry flooring laminate? Most laminate
manufacturers will not warrantee their produce in "wet" areas and
place warnings right on the boxes the planks come in.

    Cheers

    Jim

Yeah...I got a couple of books, looseleaf binders, full of information. While I was unpacking I found another set from the previous owner. I've actually read them, shocked some folks I think.

I'd have to look to see exact dates, really close on the timing.

No, it's a chunk of linoleum that covers...the area that represents the kitchen, entryway, bathroom, and hallway to the bedroom. Given that there are people here in walkers...some have chosen to use laminate in their units. Right now I'm waiting to see what my neighbor does with her deck, mine's covered with this really ugly battleship gray indoor/outdoor carpet right now.

Last night the kitchen almost became a "wet" place. We got back from Funny River a little after 7pm and Michael pointed out that both kitchen sinks were full of this nasty looking water. I went and found the maintenace guy (I suppose I should get the phone number into the phone), he came up, vacuumed most of the water out, tried a plunger, and then called the plumber. He showed
up in about half an hour and snaked the line, was gone by about 9pm. Short story made long...the sinks on the 3rd floor unit, 2 floors above me, were snaked that morning. I inherited the clog.

We had to call a plumber recently for a clogged sink drain. He tried
the standard rotor router, but that did not clear the clogged arteries.
He had to go get the more industrial size that they use on sewers to
finish the job. Turns out that we got yelled at for dumping grease
water from the smoker down the garbage disposal. Took a decade for it
to clog. What it was doing was after running the disposal with running
water, we would get a geyser shoot up from the back pressure.

Yikes! I moved into this place last June. Since then the disposal has been turned on maybe 4 times. The first time I did, it broke...chunk of internal metal bouncing around noisily it. They fixed it inside of 2 hours, new disposal. I've used them in the past...my parents had them, we lived in military housing...just got out of the habit. Dump everything into the trash and get rid of that often. I haven't done any smoking in several years, used to do it down in Lake Havasu (which I didn't go to last winter). Around the house and down at the lake...frankly I couldn't walk/stand enough to be comfortable with it. Now I'm in the condo, although I could probably get away with an electric one out on the deck. But! I have 2 charcoal cookers down at the lake...and summers just getting here...and another down in Lake Havasu where I'll be this winter.
