From Ruth Haffly@1:396/45.28 to NANCY BACKUS on Sunday, July 01, 2018 17:48:13
    Hi Nancy,

Makes sense. I'm finally caught up with everything but this is
going RH>> to be a busy week so I may backslide a bit on Fido.
That happens... ;) We'll just have to wait patiently... :)

Doing it somewhat later tonight but still the same day. Usual
Wednesday morning business, then saw my orthopedic doctor this
afternoon. Knee problems appear to be arthritis and bone on bone (no fluid) on the one side. After the picnic I'll get the injections of the synthetic fluid but he said I'll probably need replacement down the
    road.

The synthetic fluid can work quite nicely... those injections are
better for you in the long run than the cortisone ones, too...

The synthetic fluids don't affect your blood sugar either. (G) I will be getting them after VT, and before the picnic. Had my months mixed up in
    the message above.

Then over to Sam's for a few minutes, a gulp & go supper and out
the door for VBS. We picked up a rostisserie chicken and salad greens
at Sam's to go with the blueberry cobbler at home.

Sounds like a nice quick meal... :)

It was; we topped it off with blueberry cobbler after VBS. Finished the
cobbler last night but still have a couple of muffins.

Steve got at the farmers market yesterday. Maybe next week? It
    looks a bit quieter.
That does make for a busy week... :) The blueberries sound
quite NB>> tasty... and you would want to use them before they go
    bad...
Hopefully next week will be a little less crazy... and let you
get NB>> your account set up on Wegmans website... :)

Looking like Tuesday will be a quiet day, maybe I can do it then.

As long as you get it done before you head back up into Wegmans
    country... ;)

I've got what, 2 months? Hopefully I'll get it done this week; it looks
to be on the quiet side.

First time I was in a Wegman's was about 1979, the Brockport
store. It was brand new, basically the same as it is now in what
it carries. No fabric that I can recall.
I don't really remember specific dates on that now... possibly,
too, it was either only at our store, or just an experiment....

Still, one that didn't make the cut. They were trying to be all things
to all people and couldn't carry it off.

Dunno... It was nice while it lasted, though... ;)

I imagine so--sounds like they were trying to be a bit of an old
fashioned general store but the concept didn't work out for them.

Sigh! I bought some fabric at W.T. Grant's before they went out
of business. PX also sold it in the stateside stores before we
went to Germany; when we came back, it had been discontinued.
They sold it in the PX's in Germany--had to tutor a young man
from our church who worked for them when he was assigned to the
fabric department & didn't know how to cut yardage.
Good thing that you could teach him how to cut yardage... :)

Yes, as he had a customer and was looking somewhat bewildered. (G)

I'm a little surprised he didn't get some training.... but maybe they thought it was a no-brainer....

Depends on how your brain is wired. I don't remember how long he stayed
in the department; they seemes to rotate clerks among the various areas.
That PX is where I saw a demo of a bread machine for the first time. At
the time I wasn't interested but did get one a few years later after
    breaking my wrists.

And, we've got our trip to VT before the picnic. Beginning to
think about what to pack for that, what meals to do for the
team, RH>> etc. It'll be a small team this year, only 9 people.
So, fewer mouths to feed, and less to cook... unless some end up
    having big appetites.... ;)

Don't think there will be many with super big appetites but will still cook for a couple servings than people. Allows for those with big appetites to have seconds, and often pots are emptied out well before
the clean up crew gets them.

After all, you cook up such good food.... :)

    Apparantly so. (G)

Made it to a small food truck rodeo in town today since we
didn't have lunch with LG. Steve got a bbq brisket sandwich,
mine was pulled pork. It was fast, and good! They came with
a side of slaw--ok, but not great. The dressing was more of
a vinegar & mayo, on shreds (strings?) of cabbage.

    Hi Nancy,

    CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS MESSAGE <<

    (rodeo)
So you finally got to one... ;) Too bad about the slaw, but
good that the meat was good... :)

If we ever get to another rodeo, we might go back to this truck, or
try something new. Our favorite gyro place had a truck but I suggested
we try something new. Couldn't do some because of corn (tortillas),
others didn't have the appeal that the bbq place did. Small rodeo so
not many trucks to choose from, but we did well with what we picked.

Sounds like... :) I suppose another rodeo might have some other
trucks, so you might have others to choose from... :)

Hopefully so. It was quite hot out there so not too many people yet (and
we were on the early side of the hours posted). Maybe more came as the afternoon wore on.

for a long term hold for us.
Not bad at all... Have you finished going through the stack
    yet...?

Finished by Friday night. I did a lot of skimming, knew I had to get
VBS craft projects pulled together over the week end.

And soon enough, you'll have another stack waiting for you, when you return from VT... :)

Not nearly so many. Since we do VBS outside, we won't have to worry
about making a mess. If it rains, we have to meet inside, I'll have to re-juggle the crafts so as not to make a mess.
