piping around the top and bottom edges will dress it up even more but this cake can be kept in the pan if desired.
Wilton would freak, but too bad. It makes transport easier too.
The basic kit that I bought years ago from Wilton had the cake--in a pan so they can't fuss too much. I've riffed on their suggestions for the various squares at different times, but that's my perogitive.

Yep. I've always wanted one of those old school pans with the lid
that slides on. Handy for transport.

That brought back a memory... :) My parents had a 8 x 13 pan (maybe it
was a bit larger) with the lid that slid on.... aluminum, both pan and
lid... I think it got used for a lot more than just cake.... :)

Probably did. I'd love to find one of those in a yard sale, but they never turn up - the family always snags them.

Of course, we did have a yard sale when we were clearing out the house,
dunno if it went into the sale, or if one of the siblings did grab it...
I wasn't in charge of the sale, so wasn't paying attention completely,
except for making sure nothing of mine was being sold or anything I particularly was interested in... :)

It doesn't happen often at professional sales, but does at some family ones
if they haven't gone though things properly. Sometimes if they did.
