there are those whose electricity has gone out for multiple days
on end, jeopardizing (ugh, tough to spell, should use imperilling instead) their freezer contents and sometimes their health as well.
Having been a caretaker for someone regularly on O2, I'm very aware of
the endangering health risks of being without electricity... And losing
the contents of the freezer is not a good thing either... although
having a fire come through also isn't....

It's always an issue of cost of insurance vs. that of the
event insured against. It's the company's job to expose
itself to as little risk as possible, within reason. It's
the customer's responsibility to make sure that the
company doesn't run roughshod over it. The main tool for
this is the much-maligned lawsuit. I am not superfond of
the litigious society, but it's largely the fault of
business and the professions and their neglect and lack of
    caring in the distant past.

That said, I escaped (alone) to the east coast a couple days ago.
Always something going on for you... Is a stopover here firming up at all....?
I'm looking at nothing until February or March, and then
only if I can't get my first set of eye operations done then.
Getting the eyes done is also important... At least you did get to see
    Fords earlier this year....

For sure. I read getting the eggs done. It's not quite
clear what the best outcome is, though.

Both Lilli and Bonnie are requiring more of my time due to
various concerns, plus the younger generation of Bonnie's
family has been having some major health issues - part of
the reason I came back east at all was for that - I was only
joking about fleeing to escape fire dangers.
    I gathered as much...

Lilli notes that today we're going to be in the weird
situation of having a red flag fire warning day and a
flash flood alert at the same time.

I've not had Weggie's fried chicken, but other supermarket
fried chicken is way too salty for me, as it potentially
has to be kept under the lamp for a long time.
We've not found it particularly salty... and we are pretty sensitive to salt, so you might not mind it...
    Possibly worth a try sometime.
Sometime when you are here, maybe... I can only vouch for our store
    without reservations... ;)

    It'll be a fun experiment.

The funny thing is that most of us think of palefaces
being the as more oblivious in that way.
True... Cathy's sister acting as though she were a paleface is part of
what Cathy was responding to... Although, American blacks often tend to
be that way as well, in reality... Cathy is more like us than most... :)

I guess the logical progression is from having to eat
anything that appears vaguely edible and by degrees to
overfastidiousness, and eventually, though it might
    take generations, partway back.

    ... I can eat 2 fried eggs, 3 if they're scrambled, 40 if they're devilled
That's singularly perverse. I can choke them down in about
    reverse order.
I grabbed that tag partly because I know some people kinda like that...
The 2 fried eggs or 3 scrambled is pretty accurate for me, but while I
like most deviled eggs, I'd still not eat more than one or two (halves,
    that is)... :)

And there are those like Dallas, who seems to abhor the
    devilled variety. I used to make a mayo-free mustard-free
stuffed egg that I could eat an arbitrary number of. It
was a throw this and that together thing; an approximation:

    Really devilled eggs
categories: hors d'oeuvre. mine, use at your own risk
    servings: 24

    24 hard-boiled egg halves
3 Tb very finely minced onion
2 Tb vinegar hot sauce (Cholula, Tabasco, etc.)
    2 Tb sriracha
    1 ts garlic powder
    salt to taste
water or oil as needed to moisten
    h - garnish as desired
    minced parsley
    parsley sprigs
    a sprinkle of paprika

Remove yolks to a bowl and mash with remaining
ingredients, mixing well. If you've overcooked
the eggs, moisten the stuffing with a little
liquid. Then pipe or spoon into the white halves.
Garnish as desired and serve cold.

Mine, from way back, approximately what I did
