From MICHAEL LOO@1:123/140 to JIM WELLER on Saturday, November 16, 2019 17:20:00
Speaking of which, is there a decent hospital in
YK? Lilli is thinking of a far north trip in the
heat of the summer, but decent urgent health care
    is a must.
We have a brand new $350M state of the art 300,000 sq ft hospital
with twice the number of staff as the old one. And for the odd
thing that still isn't covered here such as oncology there's fast
(75 minutes) Learjet medevac to Edmonton. (She should probably check
that her insurance covers air ambulance, just in case.)

I will find that out, but none of her more serious
issues, mine either, are of that kind of emergency nature.

Peachee Naib / and Roslind became close friends and they
exchanged recipes while Ravi and I drank his scotch.
What was their line of business?
He is a family physician (GP), trained in London, where he developed
a taste for scotch and G&Ts. She didn't work outside the home while
    they were here.

Sounds like a lot of the South Asian professional
families of my acquaintance. It has only been fairly
recently that the women have had the opportunity to
exert their intellectual clout, which they have done
in spades. The ones of my generation and previous have
of course generally found their fulfillment as
    stay-ay-home moms and meddlesome grandmoms.

None of our Desi friends and acquaintances are recent immigrants
directly from the Indian sub-continent. They are all from England,
Trinidad, Kenya, Mauritius, Calgary and Toronto.

The Indian presences has made itself known widely,
perhaps as much so as the English or the Chinese.

    Red Snapper Bloody Mary
I have one additional secret ingredient.
    A drop of bitters, perhaps.
It's horseradish actually. Young Charlee was proud and happy to
make Caesars for her mom and step dad when she was quite little. I
told her that she made the second best ones in the country so

Ah, poop. That's at best middle-aged hat out here,
where people not only are animals but like spicy
bloodys, sometimes with horseradish as well as
Tabasco and Worcester. Speaking of which, what do
you use as a substitute for the now-degraded
Worcestershire? I guess that a judicious mixing of
modern Lea & Perrins with soy sauce and a drop of
fish sauce might be a facsimile.

naturally she wanted to know who made the very best ones and how. I
told her it was my broker Rod and later on I whispered to her that I
saw him use horseradish. Now she too makes the best ones in the
    country!

I bartended for my parents' infrequent parties
also from a very young age. I believe no serious
damage was done by that, in contrast to a lot of
age-inappropriate things they made me do, some
of which caused at least a bit of trouble.

    Zorbian beef or chicken
categories: main, rice, Yemenite, Indian, biryani
    servings: 12 or so

    1 hen [say 5 lb]
    - [or 3 lb stewing beef]
    3 potatoes
    fried onion, desired
    1 lg onion, chopped small
    2 green chili peppers, minced
    1 pt yogurt
    4 c basmati rice
1 c mint and chopped chopped
    h - Correct spices
    6 cloves garlic, finely grated
1 Tb grated soft green ginger
    2 tomatoes, juice of
    h - Ground Spices
    1 pn black pepper
    1 bay leaf
    hill [no idea]
    1 pn cinnamon
    pink [no idea]
    1/2 ts red chile
    1 ts curry
    2 ts turmeric
    1/2 ts black pepper
    1/2 Tb cumin

This recipe was originally in some kind of Arabic and
was clearly run through the Google Translate. I have
not interfered with the flavor of the text partially
because I don't completely know what it means, though
this could be a good template for your biryani-type
    dish, and I might .

I equal the right spices on a little oil and Ihahaha
until Matlt the wind and then add onions, garlic,
green pepper and ginger and let them Nhshoh on medium
    heat reduce Maizbel onions.

Add the chicken and potatoes after makshrh and cut
half and turn it with onions and garlic and then add
the spices and the king and kiss them once.

Add the tomatoes and fry and cover it 5 min and come
back add the amount of cherry and mint, which I have
chopped and add yogurt and turn it completely and I
like a little fried onion to take a sweet color and
locked it of course I settled him with pressure so
as to take time and leave him almost 30 min.

Survive the rice in the tangerah where water is equal
to two leaves laurel and cinnamon promises and 6
grains Hill and six grains of cloves, salt and a
little oil and let it boil to the extent of boiling
    and pour it over rice.

Then we open on the chicken and add a layer of rice
and we worked on them fried onion and the rest of
coriander and mint and I return the second layer of
rice and sprinkle with a little tincture saffron.

And I equal a pinch of fried onions and closed the
pressure 10 min and then poured and sprinkled on
    the rest of the onions.

spoke to Jim Weller about 246 medical care <=-

I bartended for my parents' infrequent parties

age-inappropriate things they made me do, some
of which caused at least a bit of trouble.

Gail talks of similar with her folks card game parties. She would
sometimes sample the partially filled glasses as she took them out to be washed. In my house, the only alcoholic beverage was a bottle of Mogen
David pushed way back in the fridge, so I did not have my first beer
    until teen years.

BTW, tonight only had two messages from you -- #246, #247.

I'm not at all sure that these two proteins go together in one dish.
