At least the cataract surgery is rather minimal, and not extensive
    therapy afterwards... :)

True, the hardest part will be the time between doing the first eye
and them settling down to get a new eye exam/glasses. The doctor wants
to wait a month between the 2 eyes so the first one heals up well
    so.....

We only had to wait two weeks between. Our surgery used a laser type of extraction which did not require eye drops either before or after. One suggestion would be to go to your regular eye doctor the next day and
ask them to pop out the lens for the eye that had the surgery. That way
you can use your glasses, at least for distance vision. We also went
to the Dollar store and bought a cheap ($1) set of reader glasses. Then
after every thing settled down in both eyes, we got a new prescription
with progressive or varilux lenses that allowed for reading and
finishing off the distant vision to 20/20.

    Hi Dale,

At least the cataract surgery is rather minimal, and not extensive
    therapy afterwards... :)

True, the hardest part will be the time between doing the first eye
and them settling down to get a new eye exam/glasses. The doctor wants
to wait a month between the 2 eyes so the first one heals up well
    so.....

We only had to wait two weeks between. Our surgery used a laser type
of extraction which did not require eye drops either before or after.

I'm not sure what this doctor uses, will find out when we talk with him.

One suggestion would be to go to your regular eye doctor the next day
    and
ask them to pop out the lens for the eye that had the surgery. That
way you can use your glasses, at least for distance vision. We also

We can do that ourselves or take it to Sam's Club where we got the
    glasses.

    went
to the Dollar store and bought a cheap ($1) set of reader glasses.

    I'll probably do that also.

Then after every thing settled down in both eyes, we got a new prescription
with progressive or varilux lenses that allowed for reading and
finishing off the distant vision to 20/20.

    That's part of the arraingement.

Today has been cool (mid 40s), with off and on rain, IOW, a good day for
pie making. A friend came over this afternoon to learn how to make pie
crust; we took 2 apple pies out of the oven about half an hour ago. She borrowed our pie carrier basket to take one home for her family; Steve
and I will enjoy the other one. (G)
