pistachio coated english toffee bars there...
Did you prefer them to Rocas?
I find them both good... At one time, long ago, Lori's had a similar
one to TJs but with crushed almonds or walnuts as the nut coating...
They all are better than Heath, which is an inferior substitute... ;)

Heath has a couple shortcomings - the chocolate tastes bogus,
and the toffee is too hard by a fair margin (the way to fix -
a touch of baking soda in the manufacture). The good thing
about it was (the last time I had one) the flavor was fairly
buttery almost like the real thing.

    I should have stolen some
of those Rocas - could have used one to cleanse my palate
after a similar but inferior product yesterday.
They were out on the table in the living room... available to
    whomever...

    I suppose they were.

One unexpected source for Seville orange marmalade that
the Shipps found was Safeway, a store that no longer is
common around here, though its better-reputed brand
Albertson's is still a major player in California.
And the Safeway no longer carries it... which is why I looked for it at
TJ's, as Dale wondered where he could get it when Safeway discontinued
    it....

I was under the impression that it was the Safeway house
brand (Select or something), which made it all the more
impressive. If that was not so, what was the brand name?

Things to avoid are meats and vegetables, which offer no
advantage over grocery store offerings and often are of a
    certain antiquity.
Definitely will keep that in mind... tttt, they didn't look all that promising when I was in the store scoping things out... :)
It seems to be an attempt to horn in on the regular grocery
niche, but if so, why not bother to do it right?
    You'd think.....

The US management must have had something wrong with
    its analyses.

Yep, a cost-benefit analysis but more complicated.
Isn't that what computers are for....? ;)
Perhaps, but computer models often don't work right.
They do, after all, have to be programmed correctly....

And the data collection has to be sound, which is
    at least as crucial.

This one substitutes sweet oranges plus lemons to
    simulate Seville oranges.

It was a house brand, Safeway Select, and they stopped carrying the
entire line. Other jams and jellies in their Select line were also
pretty good. The jar I got from TJs will probably last me a pretty long
time. Gail is looking for a replacement for their strawberry. So far,
the Polander all-fruit is the winner.

They're made (I think, distributed anyway) by Hershey now, which might
account for the chocolate issue... I still get them, but do prefer the
    better ones... :)
