Quoting Nancy Backus to Dale Shipp <=-

the Shipps found cotton candy grapes / was not seen fit to buy.

Our store also had MoonDrops... elongated black grapes... they
    were rather tasty

I have not seen there here yet but they do look and sound good.

There's been a large number of new grape varieties created in recent
years, especially of the seedless kind. All of them seem to have both trademarked names and patents.

This week my store is featuring Adora seedless black grapes from
Peru. I didn't pick any up as I still had red grapes and a lot of
other fruit in the house so I can't report on their taste.

when pierced with tip of a knife. Serve hot.

They have a fairly short season, as do many of the specialty
    varieties...

    Yes, I've noticed that, too...

I don't know if I've seen those show up here.... last shopping trip, I
did pick up some of the red grapes... Wegmans has had them at the
special price of $1.99/lb as a special incentive for keeping family
shopping prices down for quite a while now... :) It had been intended
as a short term thing (on a number of items that families tended to
buy), but met with such an enthusiastic response that Wegmans kept the
    lower price.... :)
