From MICHAEL LOO@1:123/140 to NANCY BACKUS on Thursday, October 31, 2019 19:44:42
At one time I knew people who claimed to have eaten people,
and I myself have eaten off a polyp that had grown on the
inside of my mouth (bit it off, chewed, swallowed, didn't
notice much but a slightly salty-sourish aspect, no real
taste, but it was small, maybe 1/4" round.
I've had bits of my own skin or blood... no polyps grew inside my mouth
    to tempt me... ;)

I periodically gulp or snort my blood. Speaking of which, I
had to take a painkiller during a period when the humidity
here was 5, and of course my nose started to run like a
    strawberry daiquiri spigot.

Speak for yourself! Though it reminds me of the story
about how Gerber baby food didn't sell in Africa (though
that turns out to have been an urban legend).
Yup heard that tale myself, and its refutation... ;)

I wish it had been true, that story that attempts to point
out the relative sanity and decency of the uncivilized, a
la The Gods Must Be Crazt.

Some would prefer that, yes. By the way, that was the least
skordalia I've ever made, owing to the selection of potatoes
offered by the each at Publix as well as my lack of attention.
Maybe you should have bought a bag and left the bulk of it with
    Hafflys... ;)

Probably, the result would have been somewhat better.

Tolliver, our new treasurer, who spoke volubly and rapidly,
using his allotted time to present more information than the
    others combined.
Perhaps his report had more substance to begin with...?
Not than previous treasurers' reports, but certainly than
other chairman's reports of this year; plus I'm guessing one or
two chairs might have had things to gloss over that they were
    not proud of.
    Could be a possibility, indeed...

Not that they have oversight over vast millions, but
    sometimes they do crazy things.

The idea is that there may come through some stray bits of
information that combined could shed useful light on otherwise
    opaque situations.
    I suppose, maybe.... :)
I'm pretty sure there's no maybe about it. It was a practice of
Axis agents in WWII to seek out any and all little bits of data
they could, to be put in context at some headquarters in Germany.
Of course, the disinformation could go in both directions.
Quite true on the disinformation going both directions... :)

It is said that a standard technique is to issue soldiers with
false orders and then send them out on the town to get drunk.

... If music be the food of love, can I get fries with that?

No, but you could get crabs.

    Not a surprise.... :)
