Hah - now it's mountain lions eating
    bicyclists.
It's not the first time they've done so... nor is it likely to be the last...
First recorded in 94 years in Washington state.
Perhaps the creature smelled a BU Ph.D. and
decided he would be easy pickings.
    Hmmm... maybe...

Although I admit young academic types tend to be
skinny. But the word was that this mountain lion
    was malnourished as well.

Our attitude is influenced by the general
atmosphere of plenty in 21st century America.
Those who don't enjoy that condition do their
darndest to do so, those who do want more, as
your father said - two, three, four cars,
    houses, whatever.
True... And I've also noticed that those who don't have, often believe
that it is their right to have... so it is only right that they misuse
credit or even steal to get what they feel they should have... and how
dare anyone accuse them of wrong behaviour...

It's an interesting psychology. Yesterday I found
someone sitting in my advantageous seat; when
confronted, he ceded the place, saying "my bad"
    - an abomination to the English language. Turns
out he had been assigned a nonreclining seat
and seemed to be trying to pull the wool over
the rightful possessor's (i.e., my) eyes.

Thanks. I do, too, most of the time.
I hear you on that... :)
Doing the stairs is getting hard again.
    That's not so good...
Doesn't seem to be. Let's see if I can get
    through three quartets tonight.
    And did you...?

Played second in Op. 74 and first in I think
one of the Mozarts, which was as easy as
falling off a log. Then the first movement
of the Sunrise, but it was someone else who
    pooped out, not me.

I know... :) And I think it a very good idea to try to incorporate
them as much as possible when we can... :) Burt does think that Lydia's may be well within reach for them... she's partway to Newark, though a
bit south of that as well as Rochester... :)
That bit south might be good for others, though.
Depending on how one is travelling... and which route is taken.. :)

I'm thinking that after a long trek, any break
    would be welcome.

... It's amazing how pervasive food is.

And it's wonderful how pervasive pork is.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v7.04

Title: PORK SALAD WITH MUSTARD-SOY SAUCE
    Categories: Salad, Mustard, Soy, Leftovers
    Servings: 4

    MMMMM----------------------------THE SALAD---------------------------------
2 c (approx.) mixed greens 1 Red bell pepper,
    seeded and
8 Slices cooked loin of pork, Cut into thick slices
    At room temperature

    MMMMM-------------------------THE VINAIGRETTE------------------------------
2 tb Dijon mustard 1 tb Wine vinegar
1 1/2 ts Soy sauce 3 1/2 tb Olive oil
1 tb Fresh lemon juice 1 Pepper

You can add all sorts of food you might happen to find in the
    refrigerator
to fill this salad out - hard-boiled egg wedges, anchovy filets, black
olives, red grapes, celery sticks, or cooked vegetables. Serve with warm
    toast triangles.
    1. Assemble the salad: Arrange the greens in the center of the plate
and surround with the pork and pepper slices.

    2. Prepare the vinaigrette: In a small bowl, mix the mustard with
    the
soy sauce, lemon juice, and vinegar. Whisk in the olive oil and season
with pepper. Drizzle over the pork and greens.

    Serves 4.

So maybe some extenuating circumstances there... ;)

    Indeed.

    Yesterday I found
    someone sitting in my advantageous seat;
when confronted, he ceded the place, saying "my
bad"- an abomination to the English language.

Quite agreed... to say nothing of being a rather annoying brush off of
any responsibility really for bad behaviour....

Turns out he had been assigned a nonreclining
seat and seemed to be trying to pull the wool
over the rightful possessor's (i.e., my) eyes.

Perhaps he's done so in the past, successfully...

Thanks. I do, too, most of the time.
