With any luck you'll get what we got when Hy-Vee came to my area. Now
all the other stores have stepped up their game(s). Hy-Vee offered a
delivery service (free if your order was over $100). Now the other
chains (County Market/Niemann and Schnuks) offer delivery. As does
Humphrey's and Country Market which are stand alone operations. Old
standby, Humphrey's, always did offer delivery as they sold to food
service/school/catering places. Now they've laid on more trucks and
    are delivering to individuals.

Delivery service here seems to have arrived independently of any
particular chains, certainly there aren't any new ones here at the
    moment... :)

We had, briefly, a "WeGoShop" franchise here. The poor sap who thought
it to be a great idea would have lost less $$$ if he'd thrown his
wallet out a 12th floor window the the Dixie Hotel.

What came here was InstaCart... they offered their system/service to various supermarket chains, and quickly got a foothold.... I know that Tops, Aldi's and Wegmans all offer that as their home delivery
    service...

There is an "InstaCart" presence here as I found with a BING search.

From Springfield Business Journal of July 2017: "The company launches
in Springfield and the surrounding area on July 13, and Osborne says
Instacart will work with 200 independent contractors here to fill
orders from retailers like Schnucks, Shop 'N Save, CVS and Petco."

Well, Schnuks (a St. Louis based chain of grocery stores) now has their
own dedicated delivery fleet for their two stores here. Although
Instacart will still do their "thing" at Schnuks (and ALDI/Hy-Vee, too).

I don't buy from CVS nor Petco and Shop & Save has abandoned the market.
And their four stupormarkup locations. Several of the liquor retailers -
like Binny's Beverage Depot and Friar Tuck are using Instacart Delivery.
But, as the deliveries are done by 200 (or so) "independent contractors"
they fly under the radar like Uber and Lyft.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

Title: Simulated Instant Beef Gravy Packet
    Categories: Sauces, Mixes
    Yield: 4 Servings

    2 tb Flour
    1 tb Beef flavor base
    1/2 ts Cornstarch
    1 tb Ketchup
    1 ts Mixed vegetable powder
    pn Garlic powder
    pn Onion powder
    1 Healthy grind of fresh
    - black pepper
    1 c Water (or milk)

Mix all except water (or milk) together in a small
bowl to form a paste. Slowly add water while stirring
vigorously. (Ketchup will be hardest to blend). Heat
to boiling in skillet or pan containing drippings from
entree. Stir until thickened to desired consistency.

    Serve.

(NOTE: Substitute milk for water to simulate "country-style
    cream gravy")

That's probably essentially the way it's set up here, too....

Well, Schnuks (a St. Louis based chain of grocery stores) now has
their own dedicated delivery fleet for their two stores here. Although Instacart will still do their "thing" at Schnuks (and ALDI/Hy-Vee,

I'm not sure if Wegmans is utilising the Instacart only for the delivery service, or not... and it's possibly that the newer BJ's delivery is
also "powered by Instacart"... But I've never used the service so am
not totally up on how it actually works out...

And GrubHub and the like.... I suppose it's a useful service for some
    people... ;)
