• The Picnic

From JIM WELLER@1:123/140 to ALL on Saturday, October 12, 2019 21:05:00

    picnic day:
    [a variety of] chips
    Dale's famous pastrami
Steve smoked chicken thighs rubbed with Trade Winds Vermont maple rub
    steak and kidney pie
[Gail's} pecan pie [and] Key lime [pie]
    sweets
    galaktoboureko
    A bunch of chocolates

    "leftover day":
skordalia [with] fried eggplant and zucchini
leftover brisket, pulled pork, and souse and sandwich fixings
[Mark's] famous beans [with] lots of ham hock
    Sechler's sweet orange strip pickles
    leeks
    Turkish delights
    halvah with pistachios

    Breakfast:
    jowl bacon etc.

So once again the picnic sounded like a great success. (I almost wrote
    a "a great excess", [g] )

    Cheers

    Jim

And you didn't even list the restaurant visit (moved to arrival day, as
the pork wasn't cooked enough in time for that), or the goodies that
showed up on Friday around our travels and shopping, and the delayed
meal of pulled pork, Penna Dutch cold potato salad, cole slaw and
brownies Friday night.... (which showed up as leftovers for the next
couple of days as well)... :)

Picnics are always somewhat of a great excess, but a mighty delicious
one at that... :) And yes, it was indeed a great success... :)

True, or we'd still be down there... (G)
