unleashing roboclickers using methods not unlike the
schemes that use personal computers' idle processing
power to solve arcane computations for the greater good.
I do that on my Linux server when it's idle. If I'm going to keep it on
and pay for the power, might as well put it to good use.

A praiseworthy sentiment. My scenario was that some
anti-BOINC could dupe people into doing less excellent
things. Bringing Out Incipient Needless Crime, perhaps.

I believe you're talking about BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing).
    https://boinc.berkeley.edu/

And similar, but that's the outfit that Swisher is
hooked into and thus my frame of reference.

I need to talk to my friend about getting a new OS/2 BOINC client
compiled. It would make good use of the BBS machine overnight.

Now Swisher's excuse is that electricity is cheap, and
    the house sometimes needs heating.

See how many times the typist's name appears in this recipe...

    Title: Roast Chestnut Puree
    Categories: Condiments
    Yield: 1 Servings

    2 lb Chestnuts
    4 oz Butter
    2 c Chicken broth; unsalted
    4 oz Cream
    Salt to taste

Puncture the skin of each chestnut, otherwise there is the danger of
    explosion.

    Oven at 450.

Roast the chestnuts until almost tender, about 45 min.

Shell chestnuts. Saute in butter briefly; then add broth and cook,
    covered,
    until tender.

Run through a blender or food mill, adding cream to smooth.

    Season to taste.

    Hello MICHAEL.

06 Sep 19 05:27, you wrote to me:

For me it's justifying leaving the server on. The computer is actually a server and not a regular desktop machine so it can be rather power-hungry with a 750 watt power supply in it. I will, however, be resurrecting the MBSE-powered BBS on that server soon as a semi-public entity and a MBSE development test bed. Now that I finally figured out how to reset last-read message pointers in Maximus (it was there all along; I just didn't fully understand), I'm quite happy with the Max setup. I think this is the best incarnation of a BBS I've had since I started one in 1996.

Yeah, it was a bit much for me also.

Speaking of seeing one's name in print, I need to start transcribing these recipes I have into my MM eventually.

    Title: No-Bake Vanilla Orange Cookies
    Categories: Cookies, Desserts, Seandennis
    Yield: 48 Cookies

    1 (12-oz) box vanilla wafer
    - cookies
    1/2 c Slivered almonds
    1/2 c Coconut
    1/2 c Powdered sugar
    1 c White chocolate chips
    1 T Butter
    1/2 c Orange juice
    1/4 c Orange marmalade
    2 T Corn syrup

    In a food processor, combine vanilla wafers with almonds and coconut;
process until fine crumbs form. Add powdered sugar and process until
blended. Or, pour wafer mixture into a bowl and add powdered sugar.

In microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter.
Cook on 50% power for 1 minute, remove, and stir. Continue
microwaving for 30-second intervals on 50% power until mixture is
    smooth and blended.

Stir into wafer mixture along with orange juice, marmalade, and corn
    syrup.

Form 1" balls. Roll into additional powdered sugar or coconut, then
let stand until firm. Store, tightly covered, at room temperature.
    Makes about 48 cookies.

    Prep Time : 20 minutes
    Total Time: 20 minutes

Author's notes: "This super-simple no-bake cookie is a great first
recipe for children to make. If your kids are inexperienced or
younger than 10 or 11, you should process the crumbs, nuts, and
coconut and melt the white chocolate, then let the kids loose!"

Quoting Sean Dennis to MICHAEL LOO <=-

(it was there all along; I just didn't fully understand), I'm quite

I thought it was... I just couldn't explain it I think. I'm working
on getting my old Max/2 setup going again just in case you run into
questions for anything I used to make it do. LOL (Okay it's also
    giving me something to do)

Speaking of seeing one's name in print, I need to start transcribing

I've almost got mine (and my mom's) finished in MM for posting, as
well. It's just hard with my mother and grandmother's recipe cards as
they had different sized hands. (Pinch of this / handful of that)

It's not exactly explained in the manual that well either but once you figure it out, it's like "why didn't I see this before?" So now I've Max fully kitted
out so far. Been working on my doors and I figured out the problems I've been having but that's OT in here. Do you carry CHWARE? If so, I can explain it all in there, heh. I do have my DOS doors working again with my old FKFOSSIL setup.

I have hundreds of recipes I'd love to put away eventually into MM but no, I spent my first day off in seven days hacking away at the BBS and my doors. Priorities, dontcha know.

    Sean
