What with everything, I have yet to buy a box of the local Brown's Berry Farm blueberries this year... so I still don't know how they compare to the lot... ;)
Are these a supermarket offering or do you have to go to
    a farmstand to get them?
They're sold at Wegmans, along with other local farm produce... I did
get a box of the local blueberries this past week, and they're about the
same as the other's I've been getting... good enough, but only a few
berries in each box really what they should be... I did also get a

Too bad. I just encountered a box of Maine lowbush berries
that were quite good. Unfortunately, the packaging was full
of smug idiocy such that I wouldn't feel right buying that
brand (not political/religious, just pretentious silliness).

couple ears of local bi-color corn... they were quite nice... :)

I'm back east for a few days, and Bonnie got some local
white corn that was also almost up to standard.

7Zip came preinstalled on my machine, but eventually I
deleted it. EaseUS (despite its name a Chinese product,
red flags) is one of the most highly rated backup programs.
I couldn't get it to work right, but it still takes up
    space on this thing.
Not all that easy to get rid of, eh....?

It would take overcoming the usual inertia to do
so, and my eyesight and sticktoitiveness are not
    currently up to the task.

Too bad on the new version... and good you found the previous one.... :)
It wasn't the version I wanted, but it's better than the
new release, which is, as most updates are, improved in
graphics and interface and deproved in functionality.
But, but... functionality is what really counts... too bad they don't
    get that....

Tell that to Mr. Apple and Mr. Gates and their
heirs and assigns. Of course, it's the focus of
the general public on form over function that is
    largely to blame.

US TV is responsible for lots of things, including
the Brits no longer being sure which side of the
    stairs to walk down.
Although, Brit TV has done its share of confusing the US populace as to such things as well... ;)
Brit TV confuses only a select audience!
    There is that....

And one hopes that that audience is less easily
confused than the run of the mill. After all,
    you're in it!

I was riding to a gig with my cellist friend Dave who
was cut off by one of those pile-driving automotive
monstrosities, and though he was the sweetest possible
person, turned to me and said, there are moments when
you wish for a Sidewinder heat-seeking missile.
There are times, indeed... ;) At least he's still able to vent
    safely... ;)
Venting is an important part of life. It should
however be done in the privacy of one's own castle,
whether a mobile one or not.
    Indeed. :)

    Note to all (including self).

Thing is, I'm certain that a file existed, because
Dave had to make one in the first place, but if I had
a copy, it is entrapped in some ancient no doubt dead
    computer of the 386 era.
    Oh, well...

I've asked Sacerdote if there was any way one could get a
    copy to download. Awaiting response.

Thing is you have to buy a big thing of oil, so
unless you succumb and change your eating habits in a
bad way, there's the cost inefficiency and waste
issue as well as the stench that lasts for days.
Exactly on the first, and I've not (recently, at least) encountered the stench as I've not done it myself....

You could imagine. Multiply the smell of a chicken
place by many and note that at home there's not going
to be fresh good smell to outshout the gradually
    decaying oily smell.

One amusing thing, at two of the restaurants we went to,
one countryish and one Michelin-approved (not starred,
though), we were served lard with our bread. Made me want
to eat lots of bread, but Bonnie found it disgusting. More
for me. At t'Bagientje. I was ravenous anyway and ate a
whole half-cup serving of the stuff.
Lard, after all, is another real ingredient... ;)
The impression I was trying to convey.
    Which I caught... :)

    Thought so.

... The three food groups: Frozen, instant, take-out.
Sounds like the words of a programmer.
    Indeed.

Of course, there's a fourth, caffeine.

I was trying to research the origin of this recipe, and
someone tried to highjack my computer. Rude.
    Indeed rude
I was rather shocked. Usually the danger at Hamptons is
that the free wi-fi will try to make MSN your home page.
Installing Chrome without my consent was a new one.
    Somewhat brazen as well...

Indeed. Staying unexpectedly at another Hampton, MSN
tried to take over again, and also something else that
my fingers were fast enough to foil before the culprit
    registered on my consciousness.

I was going to append this very short answer to the
previous post, where it would have fit the discussion
better, but it didn't fit as well in terms of length.
    Sometimes compromise is necessary... ;)

This happens mostly in back-and-forths that have gone on
for a while; also more cutting of quotes than I'm familiar
with to preserve the context. And long ontopicizers go on
shorter messages even if they might have fit thematically
elsewhere in the packet. So in a message about (say) beef
to you the appropriate recipe might go on (say) a discussion
    of Irish oatmeal with Ruth.

Always a down side of things.... ;0 I'm not eating the berries as
quickly as earlier in the season, so I've not tried a new box yet to see
if the first was just a bit early...
