From MICHAEL LOO@1:123/140 to NANCY BACKUS on Saturday, August 31, 2019 14:44:56
I mentioned that to him yesterday, and he laughed and said that was
    pretty accurate.... (G)
Heh, there are probably aspects of both.
    Indeed so... ;)

Always. That might describe me too.

There must be whispers among the ranks as to where
the best deal on the best instruction would be.
    Apparently.... :)
    It's a brave new world.
I guess.... and he's off and flying/swimming in it.... ;)

    Better he than we.

Problem being that Turkey may not always provide the
appropriate opportunities and protections. The full
members of the EU, maybe not either, but it'll last
a lot longer than most other havens, perhaps even us.
I don't know all the details, but apparently his female friend and her
family also have legitimate birth-ties to certain full EU countries...
and apparently there are already quite a few perks available to Turkish residents/citizens in the EU... He seems to think it all very connected
and available to him... what do I know...? ;)

There are questions about Turkey that won't be
resolved for a while. I'd not be so confident, even
with the voters' recent slap to Erdogan's face.

    +
    Size and weight, I imagine...?
Weight. It was a normal-dimensioned carryon, only
    tightly packed.
    Ah, ok...

Or bouquet of violas, as it should more properly be.
That works, too... but not as likely misread that way.... ;)
    A bucket of violas?
That would have to be the pansy-like flowers rather than the instrument,
as, I suppose, actually that bouquet would needs be...

I did however have a fleeting but amusing image of a
large pail with musical instruments in it.

There is or may be that. The sci-fi story in question
posited an adversary being able to figure out what is
on a computer solely by minute variations in line
resistance or voltage (I think that's what it was).
Ah... well that does certainly sound science-fictional... ;)
It also sounds plausible, given the imbalance between a
personal computer and some behemoth someplace (especially
then, when all the brains that had to be picked were a
few Meg of RAM and a couple hundred Meg of storage).
Much less now, with so maany more, and so much larger all round
machines... although, the super computers are likewise larger and
faster... Nah... I'm not going to talk myself into a scare... (G)

    I've semi-given up. A sufficiently large operation,
governmental or not, is going to have all the data
available; it's the littler guys that I am concerned
with and whose nefarious efforts I try to foil.
