Desperate parents will try just about anything.
Despite what the parents think, the kid will turn out ok
without vegetables. There are other ways of "hiding" the
veggies too, if the parents get creative.
Sweet potato pancakes come to mind. Carrots in the pasta
    sauce. Etc.
Very few kids turn up their noses at fries; tempura-ed veggies
might be a good choice. True, you still see veggie but if you
can give it a fancy or crazy name, the kid might like it more.

I'll eat tempura'd turnips if offered.(LOL) Kids probably would too.

Fu's tempura vegetables are quite tasty... I don't think he's tried
turnips yet, though... mushrooms, onions, zucchini, sweet potato, green
beans, carrot, possibly others, yes... His tempura is light and crisp,
and the veggies nicely cooked... I suspect even a kid would find it
    tasty... ;)

... If I were here more often, I wouldn't be gone so much.

My parents used to keep 5 or 6 "halfgallon" cartons of ice cream in
their fridge-freezer, all different flavors... usually had at least 2
    or
3 open at the same time for the variety of choice... and had it pretty
much every night... :) We have one currently in our freezer, Turkey
Hill Black Cherry, for when the whim takes us... ;) It was on the
    last
day of a shoppers card sale when we shopped yesterday, not quite half price... :)

I love the black cherry, especially black cherry chocolate chip. Black raspberry too. Whenever I get it for under $3/package I usually grab
    some of whatever flavor.
