I haven't been on so long that Facebook is requiring
me to do an identity check by doing this, and I quote:
Is Burt's message worth taking that much trouble for?
It was not Burt's message. It was a picture, with caption, that
I saw and reposted on your time line. It generated a moderate
amount of exchange with Burt, Hap and Bob. I'll copy the picture
and email it to you.
It was almost as wierd as this recipe.
The next time I go on Farcebook will be my Maiden Voyage. I don't do
*ANY* of the so-called "social media" - a policy beginning when I passed
on joining the (nearly) first - IRC (Internet Relay Chat). Fido and a
couple of specific mailing lists (Chilliheads and F1) are as social as
I care to get. If I "miss out" on some things then I miss out. Big whoop.
If that makes me a curmudgeon - then so be it.
MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
Title: Ambrose Bierce Curmudgeon's Fruit Salad
Categories: Fruit, Citrus, Booze
Yield: 6 servings
1/2 c Coconut
20 oz Can tropical fruit; drained
10 oz Can mandarin oranges;
- drained
15 oz Can leechee fruit; drained
1 Lime; juiced, half the rind
- zested
1/2 c White rum
In the bottom of a large pan, over medium heat, lightly
toast the coconut by swirling it around until it is
light brown on the edges.
Add the drained canned fruit to the pan.
Add the lime rind, fresh lime juice and rum. Stir gently
for 3 to 5 minutes to allow the fruit to absorb the rum
and lime. Warm it just slightly so it is closer to body
temperature. Enjoy the lime and rum aroma.
Serve in bowls. It also stores well in the fridge and
can be served chilled.
