red and white, ribbon, wax seal. All those were there.
Not sure I have seen the bottle, at least to know... but I hear you
saying it isn't all that easy to tell... other than the general if it's
too good to be true it probably isn't....

At the time China was offering many loss leaders to get
us hooked, which we are, and not much that that president
    person can do about it.

An interesting and enviable (perhaps) life.
More akin to yours than it is to mine... :) I do, regularly, get the feeling that I'm the hen that hatched a duckling... (G)
    Or an eagle.
That could be a possibility, too....
I mentioned that to him yesterday, and he laughed and said that was
    pretty accurate.... (G)

Heh, there are probably aspects of both.

Apparently in the world of boats/ships, the certifications are pretty
much standardized across the world, wherever you go to get them... He's favored South Africa for its relative inexpensiveness and a good balance of theoretical and practical instruction...
There must be whispers among the ranks as to where
the best deal on the best instruction would be.
    Apparently.... :)

    It's a brave new world.

Though the British expats are having a really tough
time of it and are beginning to cause a ruckus. Ian
and Jacquie I believe have French nationality now, so
    they're not sweating as much.
That's fortunate... RJ finally gave up on pursuing that (at least for
now) because it was just dragging on forever, spinning wheels, and
costing ever more money for no progress....
It might be easier to find a marginal EU country
like Slovenia and just pay a modest bribe.
Apparently he's making some progress in Turkey.... especially with
having now a Turkish family to be part of....

Problem being that Turkey may not always provide the
appropriate opportunities and protections. The full
members of the EU, maybe not either, but it'll last
a lot longer than most other havens, perhaps even us.

    Lamb Couscous With Seven Vegetables
    categories: main, Moroccan
    servings: 10

    8 qt water
3 1/2 lb lamb, cut up
    1 lb onion, cut up
    2 oz olive oil
    2 Tb salt
    1 Tb white pepper
    1/2 ts saffron
    1/2 ts yellow food coloring
    2 lb carrots, cut up
    1 lb turnips, cut up
    1 lb cabbage, cut up
    1 lb zucchini, cut up
    1 lb eggplant, cut up
    1 lb tomatoes, cut up
    Couscous
    3 oz cooked garbanzo beans
    1 oz raisins

Boil water in a large pot. Add lamb, onions, oil,
salt, pepper, saffron and yellow food coloring.
    Cook for 1 hr.

Add vegetables and continue cooking for 1/2 hr or
    until vegetables are tender.

Cook couscous according to package instructions.
    Prepare enough to serve 10.

To serve, mound couscous on a platter. Remove lamb
from cooking water with a slotted spoon and place
in center of couscous. Remove vegetables from water
with a slotted spoon and place around edge of
platter. Sprinkle lamb with garbanzos and raisins.

I guess.... and he's off and flying/swimming in it.... ;)

I don't know all the details, but apparently his female friend and her
family also have legitimate birth-ties to certain full EU countries...
and apparently there are already quite a few perks available to Turkish residents/citizens in the EU... He seems to think it all very connected
and available to him... what do I know...? ;)
