    So were you to attend one of the others, you might
    have found yourselves the only oldsters present?
    I suspect that the Sunday daytime family reunion the next day that
    we skipped because we had to drive home, would have everyone from great-grandparents down to toddlers and newborns present.

    Might have been worth delaying one's trip a day. Not to
    mention the opportunities for an old lecher to letch on
    three or four generations of females.

    course grouse and pheasants which are basically just wild chickens
    are very flavourful.

    There are neutral proteins and nonneutral ones. The
    first require care to improve the flavor, the second
    the texture.

    So are rabbits and hares ...

    I've had farm-raised rabbits that are tasteless but
    for the fat, of which there is way too much. Talk about
    cognitive dissonance.

    The problem of course is that chicken often no longer
    tastes like chicken.

    Casanova Cocktail
    categories: booze, celebrity
    servings: 1

    1 orange, juice of
    15 ml Campari
    5 ml ground ginger
    60 ml brandy
    30 ml Vieille Cure liqueur brandy
    1 pn cayenne

    At the bottom of a glass, combine pepper and ginger.

    Pour the bitters on top, then brandy and Vieille Cure.

    Refrigerate or even put in the freezer.

    Remove from the freezer after 30 min and stir the
    juice of the orange into the glass.

    Drink and wait for the effect: it is rather speedy.

    of the family that she was not overly fond of so she was the one who
    decided we could give it a pass.

    I've had them in the past but not since moving here and so I very
    vaguely remember their taste or lack of it.

    Wild hares tend to be tough and lean but flavourful.

    1 Rabbit
    butter
    onions
    seasoned salt
    minced garlic
    mesquite

    I usually roast 'em in the Webber, myself. Baste them with with
    butter, onions, seasoned salt and minced garlic, wrap them up in
    aluminum foil, and cook them on indirect heat. For the last 1/4 to
    1/2 hour, I open the foil, add some mesquite to the coals, and let
    the bunny get nice and brown.
