From MICHAEL LOO@1:123/140 to JIM WELLER on Wednesday, July 03, 2019 10:02:24
two teenage daughters who are quite talented fiddlers.
They took turns with a rock band blasting away next door
also yielded to the NWT Scottish pipe band who did a set in front
    of us.
That actually sounds kind of cool and neighborly.
It turns out the pipe band didn't have a venue of their own so they
did one set per block (so 5 sets altogether) and then called it a
    night.

Well, they're set up to march, so why not.

Air Canada is a Star Alliance member.
Lilli / gone strictly to OneWorld
I'm Star Gold for life, so flying on AC gets me Maple Leaf
So you could buy two tickets for the trip here and she could treat
you on the next trip? i've noticed you often don't fly together
though so does Emerald/Gold etc privileges not extend to guests
    and co-travellers?

She has to spend $15K a year on AA partners to
qualify for her desired status. This pretty well
ties her down though (as she's moderately affluent)
is not a major hardship. I don't criticize, as I
    would if I could.

I kind of figured and wonder about Chinese influences taking
over in developing countries in the future.
Well they are very big on exchanging foreign aid for access to
resources and have no hesitation dealing with regimes we are
    reluctant to.

One doesn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but
one might consider doing so to a Trojan horse.

    caribou herd populations.
Would a reseeding be possible by importation of breeding
    stock from Scandinavia?
We still have tens of thousands of our own (but we used to have
    millions).

Is it a stable population - and what would the
    ecologically ideal number be?

    ... Give a man a ticket and he'll fly for a day.
... Push him out of a plane and he'll fly for a lifetime.
    Thank you so very little.
    Some more black humour:
Nervous Passenger: "How often do planes crash?"
Evil Flight Attendant: "Oh, just once."

Especially good one. I'm on a plane as I type, and
the rather massive turbulence calmed down just as
    I read your joke.

... A great burger is an exercise in simplicity.

    Agreed.
