Lindt 78 - a very hard melt, rather waxy. Classic chocolate
aroma (on warming to above room temp); flavor was nice and
concentrated, some tartness and coffee notes. This is one of
my go-to bars when I'm caught short in the drugstore or mass-
    market supermarket.

Theo 85% dark chocolate baking bar - fruity, nice-tasting.
A little sweet for the percent. Hard but smooth melt. I
liked it a whole lot. I wonder when people will tumble
to the fact that a 4 oz baking bar is a better deal than
    a 3 or 3.5 oz eating bar.

Chocolove sea salt caramel dark chocolate - quite
pleasant, the dark being maybe 50 to 60% with
Skybar-type pockets of pleasantly grainy vanilla
and sea-salt caramel filling. I wouldn't buy this
but would ignore the salt and eat one if offered.

Chocolove sea salt almond dark chocolate - this
was over 60%, not very salty but with little
crystals in amid the quite fresh and crunchy
toasted almond bits. Also quite nice, better than
other Chocolove products I've had before.

Guittard 63% extra dark chocolate - very nice; hard melt,
persistent chocolaty-coffee taste and finish. Not as
smooth as some. I liked it.

Nestle real semi-sweet chocolate chunks - the first four
inredients are sugar, cocoa, milkfat, and cocoa butter,
and I was ready for a dairy experience, but what I got
was a candylike but not chocolaty taste, almost coconutty,
not unpleasant to me but might be to some. The lack of a
distinct chocolate flavor was a modest disappointment,
but it could have been far worse. A lot has been
sacrificed to the smoothness of the melt, which was
exemplary. A bit too sweet, as one would expect, and a
    longish fat-driven nonchocolaty finish.

Nestle 100 Grand bar - sweet not very chocolaty chocolate
coating, a very sweet and gooey caramel filling hiding some
crisp rice. Not bad, but a bit guilt-producing.

Ghirardelli 60% premium baking bar - very nice and intense
ur-chocolate flavor, pretty hard melt, not too sweet. I'd
have guessed more than 60, maybe up to 70, but for a nagging
sweetness in the back of the throat. This seemed like a pretty
ideal eating bar, being if anything better than the normal
eating bar, plus you get 4 oz for the same price as 3.5 oz.
